Saab 105Oe GF-16
Austrian Air Force
The Saab 105Oe is a Swedish-designed trainer which first flew in 1963. Four versions were built: a basic trainer, a
weapons trainer and a reconnaissance version for the Swedish Air Force, and an export version for the Austrian Air
Force.
Swedish versions were originally powered by two Turbomeca Aubisque turbojets. These are now being replaced with
Williams/Rolls FJ44-1C turbojets to extend service life. The Austrian export version is powered by two General
Electric J85 turbojets.
