CCF T-6J Harvard Mk.4 G-TVIJ
Robert Davies
The Harvard was powered by a 550hp Pratt & Whitney R-1340-AN-1
Wasp engine, giving a maximum speed of 205mph and a range of 1118 miles.
Between 1938 and 1945, over 5000 Harvards were supplied to the air
forces of Britain, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa, mostly
through the Lend-Lease agreement. The Harvards initially served at
training units in the UK and Southern Rhodesia. During World War Two
many of the UK training units were moved to Canada and the United States.
